Simon is the BBC's Crime Correspondent in the South West of England. He's a familiar face on the evening news magazine programme Spotlight. You can see more about Simon's work, including some of the stories he's covered via the Spotlight website.
He also regularly broadcasts on BBC Radio Devon and BBC Radio Cornwall
Before being moved to cover crime by his Editor, Simon Hall was BBC South West's Environment Correspondent. Such a jarring change of specialism is a fate which also befalls Dan Groves, the TV reporter hero of Simon's books, in A Popular Murder, the first in the series.
